At QVISE we understand the value of supportability engineering by supporting your platform through life cycle by implementing the Defence Standard MoD UK’s JSP 886, Volume 7: Part 8.13 ‘Obsolescence Management’ and DoD’s SD-22: DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages) Guidebook – based on the sequence of activities to carry out Obsolescence Management. By analyzing high-risk material and components with short life spans and failures, obsolescence is performed on the entire BoM based on five different types of levels (i.e. System, Equipment, Line Replaceable Unit, Shop Replaceable Unit and Part Level). Hence, the management and mitigation strategies result in either proactive and / or reactive approaches validating the Platform to complete its life cycle as desired by the Client.
